Seventh seed Varvara Gracheva and the unseeded Katerina Siniakova will on Thursday battle for a spot in the quarterfinals of the Jiangxi Open. The win over a darling of the crowd continued the rich vein of form she is in at the moment. Siniakova, who won the Bad Homburg title, has won five of her last six matches. The Czech arrived to make her Nanchang debut after finishing as runner-up in Hong Kong. Ranked 65th in the live ranking, Siniakova has compiled a 21-19 record with 15 of her victories coming on hard courts. Siniakova has made it to the last eight four times this season and two of those feats have been in the Asia swing. The 27-year-old also has the head-to-head advantage over Gracheva as she won their only other encounter two seasons ago in Bad Homburg.
