Varvara Gracheva vs Camila Giorgi Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Camila Giorgi is ranked 80th in the world and faces Varvara Gracheva (88th) in this second round tie at Roland Garros. Giorgi was as high as 26th in the rankings three years ago but slipped as low as 86th a couple of months ago. The year began with a second round exit in the Australian Open beating a player ranked outside the top 1300 at the time before losing to Iga Swiatek in the last 64. Better form came in March when getting to the last eight in Lyon. Only one win came in her next three tournaments though but she put that form behind her in the first round of this tournament. Giorgi beat the 22nd seed Petra Martic in three sets. This is her first match against Gracheva and a win will see her get to the third round for only the second time in her career.

Her Russian opponent came into the French Open at her highest ever ranking. The 20-year-old had played 21 matches this year before heading to Roland Garros and had lost 13 of them. Her ranking has gone up six places since the start of this year. She reached the second round of the Australian Open but has been rather inconsistent this year. Her best performance was in the recent clay court tournament in Saint-Malo getting to the last four. That was a WTA 125 tournament but she did get a win over Rebecca Patterson, ranked 61st at the time. In the Emilia Romagna Open, Gracheva lost in straight sets to Petra Martic, who of course Giorgi beat in the first round here. A win here would match her best ever Grand Slam run of a third round in the US Open last year. This is her first time past the first round at Roland Garros. Giorgi had a good win in the first round and can put her experience to good use and get the win here.
