Vancouver Canucks vs Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL
by Joseph King | in NHL Predictions
Last season’s Stanley Cup runners up the Tampa Bay Lightning travel to Canada to take on the Vancouver Canucks at the Rogers Arena. A recent run of excellent form has the Lightning up to third in the Atlantic division with a record of 28 wins, 13 losses and one overtime defeat. A 4-1 away victory over the Seattle Kraken marks the Lightning’s fourth win in a row and their eighth victory from the previous 10 outings. The offense has carried Tampa Bay through this current winning streak as they have put up a total of 19 goals over the last four games (4.75 average), well above their current seasonal average of 3.60 goals per game. The visitors have to deal with potential travel fatigue as they are in the midst of a five game road trip, with the matchup against Vancouver the third in that stretch. However, Tampa Bay haven’t shown any negative signs so far as they’ve cruised to two straight away wins.
Looking to put an end to their winning streak is the Vancouver Canucks who are desperately trying to find some consistency. A 4-3 shootout win away from home over Carolina in their last outing is certainly a good start but it represents only Vancouver’s second win from the previous nine games. The Canucks now sit sixth in the Pacific division with a record of 18 wins, 22 losses and three overtime defeats. Things haven’t gone much better for them at home as Vancouver has managed to win only eight of its 19 home appearances so far. The defense has been the main culprit for their struggles this season with the 170 goals the Canucks have allowed ranking as the fourth highest in the league.

Our Vancouver Canucks vs Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction
Vancouver will struggle to slow down Tampa Bay’s in-form offense which has been scoring goals for fun lately. This is an ideal matchup for the visitors given Vancouver’s vulnerabilities on the defensive side. This shapes up to be a high-scoring game but one that the Lightning should be able to comfortably win. Back the away team in this game to win by at least two goals. Our Vancouver Canucks vs Tampa Bay Lightning preview: Tampa Bay -1.5 spread
