V Williams vs Konta Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Australian Open

Venus Williams may not be the force she was a few years ago but is still ranked 10th in the world. Her last WTA tournament win was only last November in China which followed up another win in that country two months before that. In the last Grand Slam, Williams reached the Quarter Final of the US Open before losing to her sister Serena. Her sister also beat her in the last sixteen at Wimbledon. Last year she reached the Quarter Finals of this tournament losing to Madison Keys. She has a difficult game here though facing the UK number one Johanna Konta. Her opponent was born in Australia before moving to the USA a few years ago. 2015 was a big year for her as she moved her way up the rankings and is currently number 49. The pair have met once before with Williams beating Konta in the last eight in China last September. Konta had beaten two top sixteen players in that tournament including world number two Simona Halep. The British player also beat a top ten player on her way to the last sixteen in the US Open so on her day she can be really dangerous. She's lost both  of her matches this year so might not be in that kind of form at present. I go for Venus to get the win here.
