The Hornets are coming off a back-to-back duel with the Suns. They won the first game at home 115-104 but lost the return 120-113.

The home victory over Phoenix, their eighth victory of the season, snapped a 10-match losing streak. Possessing the third-worst record, the Hornets have also suffered 28 losses.

Of their losses, 15 came in their 17 away games. However, Charlotte claimed victory the last time they were away in Utah.
