Connacht will be hoping to maintain their winning record in the EPCR Challenge Cup when they travel to Stade Aime Giral to face Perpignan on Sunday afternoon. The Blood and Golds are fourth in Pool 1 while the Westerners lead the standings. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Perpignan played out the only draw of the first round of the EPCR Challenge Cup, sharing the spoils with the Cheetahs last week 20-20 in a mighty tussle. 

However, with that result, the Blood and Golds are now winless in their last three, following back-to-back defeats to Toulouse and Toulon in the Top 14 over the previous couple of weeks. 

At home, though, Perpignan have been much better, currently on a four-match win streak while they have only lost two of their last 10 across all competitions. 

Meanwhile, Connacht will enter this contest with confidence, having secured a comfortable bonus-point victory over Zebre 43-12 at home last weekend. 

The Westerners have struggled for consistency of late, though, splitting their last eight games four wins and four losses which has left them in mid-table in the United Rugby Championship. 

While the visitors have lost four of their last six away games, it is worth noting that their last three away games were decided by fewer than six points.
