Between them these two teams have only been able to earn a point. That was achieved by Tonga when only losing by two points to France. A good result indeed for them compared to that which America earned when losing by 24 points to the French.
Tonga have had nine previous matches against the USA and those games have produced eight wins for Tonga and one for the Americans. They struggled against England losing by 32 points but two games against France and Argentina saw them lose by a combined total of only 18 points. The USA are still looking for their first point in this pool and have only ever won three games in the World Cup finals (two against Japan, the other against Russia).
