The only other time Nigeria reached the World Cup finals, they lost all their games and finished 16th out of the 16 participating teams. It's been a completely different story for them this time around. They lost their opening game to Australia but since then have won three games in a row. They surprisingly beat Turkey last weekend and followed that up with a win over Argentina to finish second in the group and reach the knock-out stages. Yesterday saw them defeat Greece by a single point to reach the quarter finals. They went into the final quarter of the game with an 11-point lead but Greece staged a great comeback to win the fourth quarter by ten points but Nigeria just held on for the win.  

Now they take on the all-conquering Americans who are the defending champions and heavily odds-on to win this tournament. They won all three of their group matches scoring 289 points, 29 more than any other team in the group stages. It's three years and 18 games since their last defeat and they will surely have too much for the brave Nigerian side and get the win to qualify for a semi-final against either Belgium or France. The tip here is to go for over 164.5 points to be scored in the match.
