USA - Italy: Form Analysis
Italy have been simply sensational at the Games this year. They began their journey with a flawless group stage, where they won all three of their matches, dropping only one set in that time.

A titanic battle against a Brazil side that had not lost a set ensued in the semis and the US held off their South American counterparts to claim a 3-2 win in a gripping five-set thriller. They now have a record of eight wins and two losses in their last 10.

Kathryn Plummer has been a crucial part of Team USA’s success in this year’s competition. It was Plummer who smashed the winning spike against Brazil in the last match and that saw her post a tally of 26 points in the match.
Plummer’s fellow outside hitter Avery Skinner and opposite Annie Drews contributed an impressive 19 and 18, respectively, in the same match and will be vital to the Americans’ chances in this one.
