Denmark take on the USA and are hoping to get back into winning ways. The defending world champions are second in Group IV of the 2023 Men's World Handball Championships main round. The Danes trail Egypt by a point but are a similar margin ahead of Bahrain and two clear of Croatia. Denmark had won all three of their preliminary group games but that winning run ended in the first match of this main round group. They were held to a 32-32 draw after trailing at the break. The Danes will fully expect to beat the USA and will qualify for the last eight (the top two go through) if Egypt can beat Bahrain. Denmark will want to get qualification sorted out after this game as they then take on Egypt in their final fixture.

The USA are bottom of this main round group and already eliminated. They only won one of their preliminary round matches but that was against Morocco. That was only by a single goal and as their opponents failed to make it into the main round, that meant the Americans didn't bring any points forward into this main round. Their first game in this group saw them beaten 32-27 by Bahrain and they can't progress into the last eight. Their main target is to beat Belgium in their final game and possibly avoid finishing bottom of the group and a bit higher up in the final rankings. Back Denmark to win this on a -19.5 goal handicap.
