USA vs China Prediction & Betting Tips - Olympic Games Women

The USA will commence their title defence when they take on China in their opening match at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Team USA are ranked fifth in the world heading into the tournament while Team China are right behind them in sixth. Let’s get into our prediction for this Pool A encounter. 

Reigning Olympic champions USA guaranteed their chance of a title defence by finishing top of their Pool at the FIVB Road to Paris Volleyball Qualifiers last September. 

They are now making their 11th consecutive appearance at the Games and 13th overall, earning a total of six medals in that time, including three silvers and two bronzes before their first-ever gold in Tokyo. 

Team USA come to Paris carrying a record of seven wins and three losses in their last 10 matches in all competitions, with two of those defeats coming against the formidable Italians. 

However, despite their superior ranking, the USA have struggled against China in the recent past, losing four of the last six matches between the nations.

The most recent encounter back in May at the Nations League saw the Chinese women claim a 3-1 victory which followed a 3-2 triumph last year at the same event. 

China have also won seven of their last 10 games with two of their defeats coming from Japan and Italy. They have three gold medals to their names along with a silver and two bronze.
