The fourth and final quarter-final of the volleyball competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics will see the USA taking on Brazil on Monday night. Team USA qualified by topping Pool C, while the Dream Team finished as one of the best third-placed teams. Let’s get into this quarter-final match prediction.
The USA got their Olympics campaign started in the best way possible as they stormed to a straight-sets win over Argentina on July 27. They followed that up with arguably their best performance of the tournament, holding off the formidable Germany 3-2 in game two.
Team USA then secured their place as Pool C winners by overcoming the fancied Japan 3-1 on Friday night. So far, the US have dropped three sets in the tournament, which is the joint second-best record.
They have now won seven of their last 10 games in all competitions, and during that time they also beat their upcoming opponents 3-2 at the Nations League last year.
Meanwhile, drawn in the group of death, Brazil managed to claim a spot in the knockout stages alongside Japan as the two best third-placed teams with four points.
The Dream Team lost their opening match of the competition 3-1 to the impressive Italians and despite putting in a much better performance in game two, they came up just short of Poland, losing 3-2.
Brazil’s progress came down to the final match of the group and they made no mistake, dispatching Egypt in straight sets. With that, they now have a record of six wins in their last 10 games in all competitions.
