Ugo Humbert and Nuno Borges, both unseeded, will battle each other in the first round of the Qatar Open. This clash will mark their third career meeting and the winner will tackle Andrey Rublev or Alexander Bublik next. Below is our prediction for this match. 

Ugo Humbert is in terrific form and is favoured to win against Borges. The Frenchman is coming off an impressive title victory on home soil in Marseille.

Humbert defended his title without dropping a set in the five matches he contested. The world number 14 is on a five-match winning streak and has improved to 9-2 to start the season. He made it to the quarter-finals on his Doha debut last season.

Nuno Borges defeated Humbert in three sets the last time they were paired up against one another. That was in Montreal last August. He will hope for a similar outcome to start his debut campaign in Doha. 

Borges is having a decent start to the season and through 12 matches, has won eight times. He has stuttered, however, in recent outings, losing twice in three fixtures. Borges, who is coming off a second-round exit in Marseille, starts the week placed 38th in the live ranking.
