Ugo Humbert vs Nuno Borges Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP National Bank Open

Ugo Humbert made an impressive start to the Rogers Cup in Montreal. He beat Arthur Fils for the loss of only four games and now takes on another unseeded player, Nuno Borges. Here's our prediction of this second round match.

Humbert is the 12th seed in this tournament and ranked 15th in the world but down a place in the live rankings. In the Live ATP Race, Humbert is in 17th position thanks to the two hard court titles he won earlier in 2024. 

His form did dip slightly during the clay court season but there have been some signs of improvement with a run to the last 16 at Wimbledon. He was impressive in his first round match and will be confident of progressing further.

Nuno Borges is the world number 43 but reaching the second round in Montreal has seen the Portuguese player rise to 39th. That's a new career-high for Borges who had previously never been ranked higher than 42nd.

Borges had a far tougher first round match than Humbert. He took on Miomir Kecmanovic and had to fight hard for the win after losing the first set. The 27-year-old recently won the clay court tournament held in Bastad beating Rafael Nadal in the final.

He lost in the first round of the Paris Olympics and now returns to hard court events. On hard courts this year, he's reached one ATP Tour quarter-final and won a Challenger Tour event. We tip Humbert to end his run in Montreal and win in straight sets.
