Two seeds meet in the last 16 of the indoor hard court Paris Masters. Second seed Carlos Alcaraz is up against the 15th-seeded Ugo Humbert. The winner takes on either Adrian Mannarino or Jordan Thompson in the last eight. Here's our match prediction.

Alcaraz is seeded second but after the withdrawal of Jannik Sinner, the Spaniard is the highest remaining seed. He had few problems in his opening match in this tournament with a win over unseeded Nicolas Jarry, losing six games.

The 21-year-old is second in both the overall and ATP Race lists. He's already confirmed his place in the end-of-season finals. Alcaraz has won his two previous matches against Humbert, both played this year. The most recent was a straight sets win on this surface.

Alcaraz has reached at least the quarter-finals in his last two tournaments and recently won the hard court tournament played in Beijing.

Ugo Humbert is ranked 18th and two places lower in the ATP Race. He has won two indoor hard court tournaments this year and recently made it to the final in Tokyo. So far in Paris, he's had wins over Brandon Nakashima (in three sets) and Marcos Giron.

This is far tougher and we tip Alcaraz to win in straight sets.
