Ugo Humbert vs Adrian Mannarino Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Newport Open

We're guaranteed a France v USA final in the Hall of Fame Open in Newport. The top half has four players remaining all from the USA but it's a different story in the bottom half. The semi-final is an all-French clash as second seeded Adrian Mannarino faces Ugo Humbert who is the third seed in this grass court tournament. Mannarino began this tournament ranked 38th in the world and is up to 34th in the live rankings. Reaching the final will take him up to 32nd and that would be good enough to get him a seeding at the upcoming US Open. The 35-year-old has been enjoying a successful grass court season on both sides of the Atlantic. He reached two quarter finals before being runner-up in Mallorca. Mannarino lost in the second round at Wimbledon but had a tough draw, losing to third seeded Daniil Medvedev. This week has gone well for him with two wins. He had to go to three sets in his quarter final against seventh seed Jordan Thompson. The first set was won to love but he then lost the second on a tie-break. The Frenchman won the final set for the loss of just two games.

Ugo Humbert is also chasing a seeding at the US Open. He was ranked 40th when this Hall of Fame Open began. Getting to the last four has taken him up to 38th and he'll go up another two places if winning this match. His European grass court season didn't go anywhere near as well as that of his opponent. Only one of his four matches was won and he exited Wimbledon in the first round. This tournament has seen him beat Steve Johnson in straight sets and then Kevin Anderson, also without dropping a set. This is his third match against Mannarino but the first on grass. The most recent meeting was on clay at Roland Garros this year with Humbert winning the best-of-five-setter for the loss of only five games. It's likely to be a different story on grass and we tip Mannarino to get the win here.
