Fleche Wallonne Predictions & Betting tips - UCI
by Matthew Newman |
The 2025 edition of the Flèche Wallonne is on Wednesday with a strong field heading up the famous Mur de Huy three times. The gradient makes this one for the climbers so let's take a look at some of the main contenders and make a prediction.
Tadej Pogacar was outsprinted at the end of the Amstel Gold on Sunday in a huge shock. This is another course that is going to play to his strengths, especially when the going gets tough on the steep climbs. Pogacar won the race in 2023.
It has been a sensational return to action from Remco Evenepoel. A win in his first race back, the Brabantse Pijl, was followed by a third-place effort in the Amstel Gold. The climbs are tougher still here but he needs respect.
Thibau Nys is only 22 but he has already found plenty of success on the road and cross country. He won the GP Miguel Indurain earlier this year, a course that has punchy climbs like this one. What he lacks in experience, he makes up for in natural talent.
At a bigger price, triple winner Julian Alaphilippe makes his 2025 Classics debut. He is a triple winner of this contest in 2018, 2019 and 2021 and has been close up every time that he has ridden the race.

Our Fleche Wallonne - UCI prediction
It was a surprising conclusion to the Amstel Gold on Sunday where Tadej Pogacar was beaten by a massive outsider. He is the red-hot favourite once more in the Flèche Wallonne and it is a course that is going to be perfect and as a previous winner of the race, we know that he loves these climbs.
At a bigger price, however, and with three places each way to aim for, it looks worth taking a chance with Julian Alaphilippe. His form in this race in the six times he has ridden it reads 221114 and this is the first classic that he has turned up for. That could be a big pointer. Oyour Flèche Wallonne prediction is Julian Alaphilippe each way.
