Amstel Gold Predictions & Betting tips - UCI

The Amstel Gold will take place on Easter Sunday on the short and sharp climbs of the Netherlands. It is always a gruelling contest which sees the famous Cauburg climb crested on three occasions. Read on for our prediction on the race.
The usual suspects will line up here in the 2025 edition of the most famous of the Dutch classics. Tadej Pogacar will lead Team Emirates once more after his debut Paris-Roubaix effort. This hilly course is going to be to his liking with lots of punchy climbs so expect him to be right in the running.
The winner in 2024 was Tom Pidcock, back to defend his title. This is clearly a course that suits him as well with his bike handling skills from a cross country background a huge plus. The Olympic champion in that event has proven just as adept on the road.
Wout van Aert won this race in 2021 and is having a solid season in the classics. He has finished fourth in both the Tour Of Flanders and the Paris-Roubaix and should be in the mix for another top-five effort.
It is also worth considering Remco Evenepoel who is the reigning Olympic road race champion. These punchy climbs are perfect for him and he won the Brabantse Pijl on Friday. This is a quick return for a second race after a serious injury, however.

Amstel Gold - UCI prediction key points
- The 2025 edition will cover 255.9km with 34 climbs in total.
- Tadej Pogacar won this race in 2023.
- This is a course more akin to the Tour Of Flanders than the Paris-Roubaix, Pogacar of course won the Tour Of Flanders a couple of weeks back.
- Of the 34 climbs, the most famous is the Cauberg which is climbed three times, including as the final climb with less than 2.5km from the summit to the finish line.

Our Amstel Gold - UCI prediction
Remco Evenepoel beat Wout van Aert in the Brabantse Pijl on Friday on his first race since a crash that could have cost him his career. He is one of the top riders in the peloton when he is on his top form but his fitness will be tested on his second start back from that crash, just two days down the line.
This sort of course is going to bring out the best in Tadej Pogacar. He enjoys these short and hard climbs and although he is a short price at the head of the market, that is for a very good reason. Our Amstel Gold prediction is Tadej Pogacar to win.
