This doubles match completes day two of the hard court Laver Cup competition in Berlin, Germany. Team Europe are being represented by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud and face Team World's Ben Shelton and Alejandro Tabilo. Here's our match prediction.
It's a busy day for Ben Shelton who takes on Carlos Alcaraz in the singles earlier in the afternoon. He was also in action last night, teaming up with fellow American Taylor Fritz to beat Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev in straight sets.
Shelton is ranked 111th in doubles and has won 11 of his 21 matches this year. The American has reached two semi-finals and made one other quarter-final appearance this year.
He teams up with Alejandro Tabilo who lost his singles match to Grigor Dimitrov yesterday. After an excellent first half of the year, he has struggled for form in recent months.He's ranked 148th in doubles and won one title this year but on clay.
Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Thanasi Kokkinakis in their singles match played on Friday. He won that in straight sets and looks to be in good form this week. In doubles, the Greek is ranked 95th and won his last Laver Cup doubles match in 2021.
Three of his last four doubles matches have been lost but only one was played on hard courts. He teams up with Casper Ruud who was beaten by Francisco Cerundolo yesterday afternoon and is only 407th in the doubles rankings.
He's reached one doubles semi-final this year. This could be a close match but feel Shelton and Tabilo can edge a win.
