The 30-11-4 Winnipeg Jets will look to bounce back from a defeat at the Boston Bruins when they visit the 23-14-8 Toronto Maple Leafs. This is a home-and-home situation with the Leafs travelling to the Jets for their next game. The Leafs have not enjoyed the pressure of their own fans this season, just a 3-5-2 record at Scotiabank Arena in their last 10. Not for the first time, their defensive efforts have been inconsistent. In their last 11, they have conceded zero or one goal on five occasions but also four or more in another five! It is tough to know which Leafs team are going to turn up on any given night. One thing that has been consistent is their offensive output. Auston Matthews has more goals than anyone else in the league with William Nylander and Mitch Marner joining the captain north of 50 points this season. This makes them one of three trios in the league with 50+ each.
The Jets saw an eight-game win streak ended when the Philadelphia Flyers shut them out. They have only managed to find the net nine times in their last five games but that has not been their strength this season, keeping the puck out the other end has been. They have lost two of their last four, the only twice that they have been beaten in regulation in their last 18. A strong road record this season sits at 14-5-2 so they will like their chances of getting something out of this with the Leafs not at their best at home so far this season. They are going to have to make a better fist of things like scoring goals, but this is a solid opportunity to do so against a team that have been so in and out at the back.
