Toronto Maple Leafs vs Colorado Avalanche Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The red-hot 27-12-3 Colorado Avalanche are on the road at the 21-10-8 Toronto Maple Leafs in the early hours of Sunday morning. The Leafs have been streaky this season, winning four on the bounce before losing to the New York Islanders last time. Those wins came after a string of five defeats in six, losing three of their last four on home ice, their only win coming against the San Jose Sharks who are the worst team in the NHL. Their recent four-game win streak saw them only concede three goals in total but they were behind within 40 seconds against the Islanders. Offensively, they continue to be one of the most exciting teams to watch, netting the fifth most goals in the league. Three of their players (William Nylander, Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner) are past the 45-point mark halfway through the season. In 19 games in Toronto, there have been a total of 139 goals, on the road there has been a total of 124 goals in 20 games. That could be worth noting for a back-to-back situation at home before five of their next six away from home.
Home has been great for the Avs so far this season, producing a record of 18-5-0 at Ball Arena but they are only 9-7-3 on the road. Eight wins in their last 10 games have them on the tails of the Winnipeg Jets at the top of the Central Division. They have won their last two on the road but had previously lost six in a row ahead of those wins so it is hard to know just what Avalanche team is going to turn up in Toronto. Their last two wins have seen them knock off the Boston Bruins and the Vegas Golden Knights, two teams who are enjoying an excellent season and should set them up nicely for another game with a team that will expect to be right in the mix come the playoffs. They have scored four or more in seven of their last 10 games so have hit a rich vein of form but they have shipped four or more in five of those as well so there could be plenty of goals once more here.
