Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees Prediction & Betting Tips - MLB
by Joseph King | in MLB Predictions
Two of the AL’s best teams face off when Toronto welcomes New York to the Rogers Centre for the second of a three game series. The Yankees took game one after an eight-run explosion in the fifth inning ultimately secured a 12-3 victory for the visitors, extending the Yanks current winning streak to seven games. New York also holds the best record in baseball with 48 wins and only 16 losses as the Bronx Bombers thier rampage through the 2022 season. For the Toronto Blue Jays, these next two games hold added weight if they are to make up ground on their division rivals who they already trail by a steep 11 games. The Blue Jays are 5-5 over the last 10 games and their 37-27 record places them second in the AL East.
Taking the mound for the Jays is their ace Alek Manoah. The second year starter is having a phenomenal year with an 8-1 record and a sub 2.00 ERA at 1.67 – third best in the Majors. Manoah is coming off back-to-back shutouts in his last two starts, totaling 12 innings of work with seven hits allowed and 11 strikeouts. Jameson Taillon gets the nod for the Yankees and the 30-year-old has been having a solid year with a 7-1 record and an ERA of 2.93. However, Taillon has been shaky in his last two outings and has given up a total of seven runs off of 16 hits through just nine innings of work. His starting record is a bit deceiving due to having one of the best offenses in baseball providing him with run support.

Our Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees Prediction
We’re going to back the Toronto Blue Jays to win this one. The Yankees are at a significant pitching disadvantage having to face off against Manoah here who has looked unhittable at times. Their starter Taillon also appears to have lost some of his control in recent outings and this Jays team should be able to get to him and knock in a few runs. It’s not often the Yankees have been underdogs this season in the midst of their scorching hot run but there is a reason the bookmakers have this Toronto team as the favorites.
