Tommy Paul vs Lorenzo Sonego Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

Tommy Paul takes on Lorenzo Sonego in the second round of the Western & Southern Open. The world number 56 had to qualify to get into the main draw and had to come from behind to beat Tennys Sandgren. He had another tough match in the first round as he lost the first set to 16th seed Cristian Garin but recovered to get into this second round. Paul has been ranked in the 50s all year and started 2021 in 52nd place. Highlights of this year have seen the American get to the last eight in Rotterdam (where he beat Sonego in straight sets) and the semi-finals of a clay court tournament held in Parma. 

Lorenzo Sonego is ranked 27th in the world but that's a rise of ten places since March. He won a clay court tournament in his native Italy in April and then had a highly successful week in Rome with wins over Gael Monfils, Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev before losing a three-set semi-final to Novak Djokovic. He can play on other surfaces too and lost in the Eastbourne grass court final and lost to Roger Federer in the last 16 at Wimbledon. Sonego had a first round straight sets win over Carlos Alvarez and is up to 25th in the live rankings.  In terms of ranking points earned this year, Sonego is 18th, compared to 56th for his opponent. Back Sonego to win this and take on either Sebastian Korda or second seeded Stefanos Tsitisipas in round three.
