Tommy Paul is chasing a third ATP Tour title of the year and his second on hard courts. Reaching this final has taken him to a career-high equalling 12th in the live rankings and a place higher in the ATP Race.

He’s in his fourth final of the year and has reached this title decider without dropping a set. The American has had wins over Laslo Djere, Miomir Kecmanovic and in Saturday’s semi-final, Stan Wawrinka.

Grigor Dimitrov is ninth in the live rankings but a place lower in the ATP Race. He’s won one hard court tournament this year and has reached this final for the loss of only one set. That was in his semi-final against Tallon Griekspoor after losing the first.

Before that, the Bulgarian had beaten Quentin Haly and Dominic Stricker. This is his third match against Paul and the first two have been shared. Both were played on hard courts but took place four years ago.

The first match they played was in the Australian Open and saw five sets played, three of which went to a tie-break. Another close match looks likely here and we go for over 21.5 games to be played.
