Tommy Paul vs Carlos Alcaraz Prediction & Betting Tips - Olympic Tournament

Carlos Alcaraz may be out of the men's doubles but he's still going strong in the singles. The second seed faces ninth-seeded Tommy Paul for a place in the semi-finals. Who'll keep their medal hopes alive? Read our prediction for this match.

Alcaraz and Nadal were knocked out of the doubles on Wednesday evening. Before  that, the Spaniard beat unseeded Roman Safiullin in straight sets to reach this quarter-final. The winner will be up against either sixth seed Casper Ruud or 13th-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime in the last four.

The second seed is bidding to win another title at Roland Garros after his victory in the French Open earlier this summer. He's won Wimbledon since and now he bids to win his first Olympic title. He's reached this quarter-final without losing a set.

Victories have come against Hady Habib, Tallon Griekspoor and Roman Safiullin. He leads Paul 3-2 in previous meetings but this is their first match played on clay. Their last match was also a quarter-final at the recent Wimbledon Grand Slam with Alcaraz winning in four sets.

Tommy Paul must wish this match was being played in Canada. That's where both his wins over Alcaraz have taken place. This is his second Olympic Games but he lost in round one three years ago. He has a busy day on Thursday as he is still in the men's doubles.

The American is attempting to reach his second clay court semi-final of the year.  He got to the last four in Madrid but this is his first time past the third round of a tournament played at Roland Garros. He's had wins over Luciano Darderi, Jakub Mensik and Corentin Moutet this week.

No sets have been dropped but this is far tougher. We tip Alcaraz to win in straight sets.
