11th seed Tommy Paul put in an impressive performance in his opening Shanghai Masters match. He now takes on the 19th seed Alejandro Tabilo in the last 32 of this hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

Paul is the world number 13 but in the ATP Live Race, he's in 11th position. A deep run in Shanghai would boost his chances of finishing in the top eight in the Race and qualifying for the end-of-season ATP Tour Finals.

The American has won one hard court title this year with success coming in Dallas. He also reached the final in Delray Beach in February and won the Queen's Club grass court tournament in June. He beat Tabilo in straight sets on his way to that title.

His most recent tournament saw him beaten in the last 16 of the Japan Open by Tomas Machac after winning the first set. He was in much better form in his first match in Shanghai with only three games lost against Fabio Fognini.

Alejandro Tabilo is at 23rd in the live rankings and will climb a place if winning this match. He's won two ATP Tour titles this year, one of them being on the hard courts of Auckland. The other came on grass in Spain and he's also won a Challenger Tour clay court title.

All those titles came in the first half of the year but his form has dipped since then. He had lost eight matches in a row (all on hard courts) before he beat Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets in his first ever match in the Shanghai Masters.
