Unseeded pair Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Zhizhen Zhang meet in the first round of the Paris Masters. For the winner, there's a second round match against the eighth seed Grigor Dimitrov. Here's our match prediction.

Etcheverry is at 40th in the live rankings and last week lost in  his first match in the Swiss Indoors Championships. That was a straight sets loss to Ben Shelton and he will be keen to get back into winning ways in this indoor hard court tournament.

He's been struggling for consistency apart from in one area. The match against Shelton ended a run of six successive matches in which he'd played a tie-break. A side bet on one in this match might be a winning one.

He hasn't won two successive matches in a tournament since the US Open. He has had some tough draws and did well to take a set off Jannik Sinner in Shanghai. 

Zhizhen Zhang is also struggling for consistency at present and is 47th in the live list. The Chinese player has lost his last five matches, most recently to Grigor Dimitrov in Vienna. The first of those losses was to Marin Cilic in the Hangzhou final. 

Zhang has only won one set in his last five matches. We tip Etcheverry to win this match.
