Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Hugo Dellien Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Buenos Aires

Hugo Dellien takes on Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the first round of the Argentinian Open. The winner of this match will face either eighth seed Albert Ramos Vinolas or unseeded Roberto Caballes Baena in round two. This clay court tournament sees the return of Carlos Alcaraz but he's in the other half of the draw with Cameron Norrie being the highest seed in this bottom half. Hugo Dellien was as high as 64th in the rankings last year before suffering an elbow injury. In the live rankings he's now 107th which is over 30 places higher than the week before. That's because of his reaching the last four in the Cordoba Open last week. This year started slowly with a first round exit in the Australian Open. He's improved since returning to clay court tournaments and got to the semi-finals in the Challenger Tour event held in Concepcion. In Cordoba, Dellien beat the fifth seeded Pedrio Cachin, Guido Pellaa and Juan Martin Cerendolo before losing in straight sets to fourth seeded Sebastian Baez.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry was also in the Cordoba Open last week. He led in his first round match against Jaoa Sousa but lost in three sets. He's 82nd in the live rankings and that's ten places below his career high ranking of 72nd achieved last July. The Argentinian has only once made it into the second round of a tournament this year. That was in the Australian Open where he beat Gregoire Barrere after losing the first set. The next round saw him beaten by Jannik Sinner, winning only seven games in three sets. Last year saw him win the Concepcion Challenger Tour event and it was Dellien he beat in the final. Four other Challenger finals were reached last year but he lost all of them. He's 1-1 in previous meetings with Dellien, the other match was in Santiago early last year with Dellien getting the win. This could be a tight match but Dellien can get the win.
