Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Francisco Cerundolo Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Santiago Open

Francisco Cerundolo is the second seed for the Chile Open in Santiago. The Argentinian takes on Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the second round after receiving a first round bye. The winner goes into the quarter finals where either unseeded Dusan Lajovic or qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo who is of course Francisco's younger brother. Francisco began this tournament ranked 32nd in the world and will hope not to drop below that so he can be seeded at Roland Garros this year. Cerundolo will be glad that Bernabe Zapata Miralles isn't in Santiago this week as he's beaten him in his last two tournaments. The 24-year-old has reached the quarter finals in two of his last three tournaments, all on clay as is this tournament.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry started this tournament ranked 76th which is four places below his career high ranking achieved last May. He's up two places in the live rankings and a win over Cerundolo could see get to 71st. Etcheverry only won one of his first four main draw matches this year but his form has picked up a bit in recent weeks. He got to the last eight in Buenos Aires and then went a set up on Cameron Norrie. However, he only won three games in the next two sets. He gave away another lead last week when losing his first match against Albert Ramos-Vinolas. The first round of this tournament saw him defeat Fabio Fognini in straight sets. This is his first match against Cerundolo on the ATP Tour. He's 3-2 down in previous matches played on the lesser tours. The most recent was in 2021 when Cerundolo won for the loss of only three games. Back him to get another win here.
