Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Cameron Norrie Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Buenos Aires

Second seeded Cameron Norrie bids to reach the Argentine Open semi-final. The world number 12 takes on unseeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry with the winner possibly facing third seeded Lorenzo Musetti who is the only other seed left in the bottom half of the draw. Norrie could have been defending his Delray Beach Open title this week but opted to travel to Argentina instead. This shows he must be serious about improving his record on clay courts. He's never made it past the third round at Roland Garros but did win a clay court event in Lyon last year and reached two finals in 2021. He received a bye into the second round but was nearly knocked out by Facundo Diaz Acosta. The Argentinian wiid card served for the match in the final set but Norrie won through on a tie-break. Norrie has won 11 of his 13 ATP Tour matches this year, including wins over Nadal and Fritz in the United Cup and reaching the final of the Auckland Classic. 

Tomas Martin Etcheverry was ranked 72nd at the start of this tournament. That's ten places below his career-high ranking but he's 74th in the live rankings. Beating Norrie will take him up to 71st.  Before this week he'd only won one of his four main draw matches. The Argentinian reached the second round of the Australian Open but back on clay lost his first match in Cordoba, losing to Joao Sousa who was ranked 162nd at the time. This week in Buenos Aires has gone better for him with a come-from-behind win over Hugo Dellien in the first round. It was the same story in the second round as he lost the first set to Roberto Caballes Baena but then won the next two for the loss of only three games. Etcheverry has won clay court tournaments on the Challenger Tour. Norrie can be backed to get the win and reach the last four.
