Fourth seed Alexander Zverev faces unseeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry in round three of the US Open. For the winner, there's a last 16 match against either 18th seed Lorenzo Musetti or unseeded Brandon Nakashima. Here's our match prediction.

Zverev has reached the fourth round of this hard court Grand Slam in his last four appearances in New York. His best performance was getting to the final four years ago. A win here will mean he's made it to at least round four in all this year's Grand Slams.

Only one set has been dropped on his way to round three. That was in the first round when losing the second set of his match against Maximilian Marterer. Round two saw him beat Alexandre Muller in straight sets.

The German is up to second in the live rankings and a place lower in the ATP Race. He won his only previous match against Etcheverry but that was on clay at last year's French Open tournament.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry is in the third round of the US Open for the first time. He's never made it past this stage in a Grand Slam. The Argentinian was ranked 33rd in the latest list and just missed out on being seeded.

He's up to 32nd in the live rankings after beating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and then defeating 29th seed Francisco Cerundolo in five sets. This is only the second time in 2024 that he's won two main draw matches in an ATP hard court tournament.
