Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Alex De Minaur Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Alex de Minaur, 18th seed will take on unseeded Tomas Etcheverry on Thursday in the second round at the French Open. The two seek a ticket from this round, to a third round showdown against either 15th seed Borna Coric or unseeded Pedro Cachin. Etcheverry is up six places to number 43 in the live ranking. This is due to his first round win over Jack Draper that was secured with a bit of luck. The match ended prematurely in the second set due to Draper retiring with Etcheverry leading 1-0. That should have him fresher for this first encounter with de Minaur. The Argentine has again excelled on clay where 19 of his 23 wins this season have come. This form has propelled him to three finals already, two at the top level.

Alex de Minaur has also played a tour level final this season and went one better than Etcheverry and won. This was however on hard court in Acapulco. On clay, he has again struggled to dominate and before arriving in Paris had a losing record on the surface. The Australian battled to defeat Ilya Ivashka in four sets to win his fourth match on clay this season. The win moved him up one place to 18th in the live ranking. Despite his success in Mexico, De Minaur has had a rocky campaign so far and has lost 10 of his 26 matches.
