Thiago Seyboth Wild has been in terrific form in Buenos Aires and will be confident of progressing to the semis. The Brazilian had lost his first three matches at the start of his season but has now won two in a row.

To advance to the last eight, the 24-year-old defeated sixth seed Sebastian Baez in straight sets. Seyboth Wild, who won the last two meetings with Djere, has moved up four places to 73rd in the live ranking.

Laslo Djere had won the first three meetings with Seyboth Wild before relinquishing their two duels last season. The two have only met on clay surfaces.

Switching to clay has seen Djere’s fortunes change. He is unbeaten on clay with four victories this week.

The 29-year-old battled through three sets to defeat fourth seed Alejandro Tabilo in the last round. He has now won seven of 10 matches and as a result, has moved up eight places to 104th in the live ranking.
