Second seed Hugo Gaston bids to become the first winner of the  Vina del Mar Challenger Tour event. He faces world number 400 Thiago Seybouth Wild  in the final of this outdoor clay court tournament.. Hugo Gaston has dropped just one set in his four matches at this Challenger. He was taken to the deciding set by eighth seed Ricardo Bonadio in the quarterfinals and won 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. He has an advantage over Wild coming into their match as he has played three hours less than his upcoming opponent, largely due to the fact that his second-round match against the qualifier Federico Gaio ended prematurely after the first set due to Gaio retiring with an injury. Gaston started his season playing in hard courts (Canberra and Melbourne) before switching to clay with the Cordoba Open. This is his sixth tournament on clay and the first he has advanced past the second round in. Gaston has five titles won across the ITF and ATP Challenger Tour in 13 finals played.

The two players have faced each other once before, in the final in Montauban in the ITF Men’s Tour in 2019. Wild won that match in straight sets and will hope for the same outcome here. Thiago Seybouth Wild received a special exemptio to play in this tournament. He's made the most of that reaching the final with just two sets lost. in his four matches. This is his second successive final. He made the final at the Chile Open where he lost in three sets to world number 99 Hugo Dellien. Unlike Gaston, Wild has spent the entire season playing on clay. He has played eight finals in his career across the ITF and ATP Tour Challengers and has won four with each and every single one being on clay.
