Sharks vs Cheetahs Prediction & Betting Tips - Currie Cup
by Devesh Jaganath in Currie Cup Predictions
The third-placed Natal Sharks will clash with the Currie Cup leaders, the Free State Cheetahs, at Kings Park Stadium this Friday. Following an exhilarating encounter against the Pumas last weekend which they won 24-22, the Sharks have pulled within five points of the current leaders with four matches to go. The Sharks are now on a four-match winning streak dating back to week six of 14 when they lost to the Bulls at this venue. Over the course of the tournament, all three sides at the top of the table have the exact same record of seven wins and three losses. However, the Pumas in second place have earned two more bonus points than the Sharks, while the Cheetahs have earned five more over their ten matches to date. A win for the Sharks will be a huge result in keeping their title hopes alive, especially if they can manage to stop the Cheetahs from picking up their 11th consecutive bonus point.
The 2019 champions, the Cheetahs, have been very good this season and haven't looked back since taking the lead in the cup standings back in week two. The visitors have picked up a bonus point in every match they’ve played in this tournament, and this is the key reason they are three points above the Pumas in the second. The Cheetahs suffered an unexpected 33-26 loss to the Golden Lions last week; however, they are unbeaten on the road in this competition to date. In the reverse fixture, the Cheetahs were outplayed by the Sharks, losing 24-17 at the Free State Stadium. The visitors will see this as the perfect opportunity to get payback on this opponent while also pulling away from them with just three matches to go after this one.

Our Sharks vs Cheetahs Prediction
This is a crucial match for both sides, as a win for the Sharks will blow the title race wide open, while a win for the visitors will see them become the out-and-out favourites to go on to lift the trophy. The Sharks have been much better since a few of their players returned from the European Rugby Champions Cup and have not lost a match since then. We fancy the hosts to continue their good form with another win in this one. Our Natal Sharks v Free State Cheetahs prediction is: Natal Sharks to win the match.
