Unable to build on their 43-35 victory over Section Paloise, Lions suffered a second loss in this competition with a 28-5 dismantling at the hands of Montpellier this past week.

With four defeats from their last five matches, the South African outfit will need an urgent turn of fortune if they hope to find any success in the cross-border cup competitions.

However, on home soil, they have been in dominant form with five consecutive victories and a minimum of 30 points scored per match coming into this one. 

Meanwhile, the Dragons also recorded their second defeat in this competition after Section Paloise comfortably saw them off 24-15 in last weekend’s round of matches.

With just a single victory from their last 11 matches, the Dragons will need to find a different attacking approach as they have failed to score above 30 points in over a year.

A similar trend is noted when on the road, as they have managed only one win in over a year against a similarly underperforming Newcastle Falcons.
