A battle between division leaders sees the NL Central first-place Milwaukee Brewers taking on the AL West first-place Texas Rangers. Texas will be desperate to get one over on the Brewers in the third and final game of this series to avoid being swept in their home ballpark. It’s been an excellent season for the Rangers overall who currently hold a slim 2.5 game lead over the second-place Astros in their division. Texas have accumulated 72 wins from their 123 games so far as we head into the final stretch of the regular season. However, they’ll be attempting to end a three game losing streak when they take to Globe Life Field on Sunday. A 6-1 loss to the Brewers on Saturday was the Rangers’ latest defeat after also losing the first game in the series by a score of 9-8. They will start this game with Max Scherzer on the mound who is 12-4 on the year with a 3.67 ERA. 

The Brewers will be looking to continue their winning ways as they seek their third straight victory down south. Milwaukee is maintaining a rather slim lead of their own in the NL Central, leading both the Cubs and Reds by three games each. Every game is important for the Brewers as the regular season winds down. A failure to hold on to the division crown could mean missing out on the postseason altogether.
