ATP Masters 1000 Toronto: our betting tips
Are you planning to make hopefully profitable predictions for the 2023 ATP Toronto event? We're here to help. Here are our experts' top tips for betting on the Canadian tournament.
Take the players' form into account
To be successful in your predictions for the Toronto Masters, it's vital that you analyze the form of the players taking part in the tournament. In an individual sport like tennis, the dynamic of each player is a key factor, playing a decisive role in the outcome of the match.
To determine a player's form, you can of course look at his recent results, but you can also look at his performances in detail. If they have been getting wins, how highly ranked were their opponents? On the other hand, how highly ranked were the players who they have lost to? Look at some statistics like how good they have been serving, how many break points they have won and their record in tie-breaks. Knowing these facts can boost the chances of your bet being a winning one.
Look at the head-to-head record
Secondly, it's important to look at the head-to-head record of the two opposing players. Who's been winning their most recent matches and what surface were they played on? Some players have a great record against some opponents but struggle against others they may face. Have they been having close matches and did they include some tie-breaks? It's all helpful information.
Don't ignore the playing surface (outdoor hard court)
As a reminder, the Toronto ATP is played on an outdoor hard court. Some players perform particularly well on this surface, while others find it very difficult to get results on it and may prefer clay, for example. So don't forget to look at the players' record on each surface, both during the season and in the past. Look to bet on players who have previously shown good form in outdoor hard court tournaments.
Take into account the players' record in the tournament
Another factor to take into account when analyzing a match at the Toronto ATP is how they have previously performed in Toronto. There are players who do well at certain tournaments. There are plenty of statistics available that can show you just how a player has gotten on in Toronto in previous years. For example, 2021 winner Daniil Medvedev is definitely one to consider.
Check the ATP rankings
Our final tip, which may seem obvious to the more experienced bettors among you, is to look at the players' ATP rankings. After the Grand Slams, the Masters 1000 are the tournaments that offer the most points to players. As the name suggests, the champion will receive 1000 ranking points. A good run in this tournament can help your world ranking a great deal.
It also puts pressure on players who did well last year and are now defending those points. We're in the second half of the year now so players will be keen to earn more points to boost their chances of making the end-of-season ATP Tour Finals. Take a good look at the ATP Race, which is based on points earned this calendar year. That is an excellent guide to how players have been playing this year but again pay attention to the surface those points have been earned on.

ATP Toronto Winner Prediction: who will win in 2023?
The tournament is held every other year in Toronto, so the last edition was played in Montreal. It was a surprise that Pablo Carreno Busta won the title last year with a three-set win over Hubert Hurkaz. Will we see another surprise winner this year? The full line-up for this tournament isn't known yet. We do know that Novak Djokovic won't be playing. It will be a star-studded line-up though with players such as Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev playing, Other serious contenders top ranked players such as Tsitsipas, Ruud, Sinner and Rublev. Once again, the tournament promises to be hotly contested, with many players in with a shout of winning the title. Although it's still a little early to say who will win, we can well imagine Medvedev being a major contender in Toronto.but we go for Alcaraz to win the title. He hasn't played since winning Wimbledon, so will be fresh and keen to get his US Open preparations off to a strong start.
