Taylor Fritz vs Stan Wawrinka Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters

Eighth seeded Taylor Fritz is up against unseeded Stan Wawrinka in the Monte Carlo Masters second round.  The American is tenth in the live world rankings but sixth in the ATP Race. He's had a successful year and was part of the American team that won the United Cup in January. In singles tournaments, Fritz has won the Delray Beach Open and reached a semi-final and two quarter finals in his three most recent tournaments. Those were achieved on hard courts though and now he has to get results on clay. Fritz has reached the last eight in this tournament in the past but clay isn't his strongest surface and he's never made it past the third round at Roland Garros. He is an improving player though and doing well in the European clay court season will be a major target for him. 

Stan Wawrinka started this week ranked in 90th place but is up to 82nd in the live rankings. The Swiss player had a tough first round match in Monte Carlo having to come from behind to get a win over Tallon Griekspoor. He's reached two indoor hard court quarter finals this year but this is his first clay court event of the year. Wawrinka won the French Open eight years ago and was the beaten finalist in 2017. He also won the Monte Carlo Masters eight years ago but had lost his last two matches before beating Griekspoor.  Wawrinka has won both of his previous matches against Fritz but both were on other surfaces. The most recent meeting was five years ago and a lot has changed since then. Wawrinka lacks consistency and our tip here is for Fritz to get the victory.
