Taylor Fritz vs Mackenzie Mcdonald Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Delray Beach Open

Top seed Taylor Fritz and world number 56 Mackenzie McDonald will face off in an all-American semifinal on Sunday in the Delray Beach Open. Fritz is the favourite to win it all in Florida but comes up against a player who beat him in their last meeting, which happened to be at this very tournament back in 2019. Fritz had won the first three meetings with McDonald but in their first match at the top level, McDonald secured a come-from-behind win against the then-seventh seed Fritz in the first round as he raced to the semifinals. Fritz is playing in his fourth tournament of the season and is in back-to-back semifinals after reaching the last four in Dallas. He has won both his matches in Florida by straight sets but survived an early scare in the quarterfinals against Adrian Mannarino. Fritz began his season by helping the USA win the inaugural United Cup but suffered a shock early exit at the Australian Open where, seeded eighth, he was eliminated by the wildcard Alexei Popyrinin five sets in the second round.

Mackenzie McDonald hasn’t been as clinical as Fritz in Florida but he has gotten the job done and is now in his second semifinal at the tournament. After beating Taro Daniel 2-0 in the first round, McDonald has dropped a set in each of his last two matches and was forced to come back from a set down against Michael Mmoh in the previous round. The American number 12 has lacked consistency so far in the season but should fancy his chances against Fritz given that he has had more success here in the past. McDonald served off in Delray ranked 56th in the world but he has since moved up to 49th place on the live ranking and can rise further up to 45th with a win on Sunday, which will be a new career high. The winner will proceed to the final to face either fourth seed Miomir Kecmanovic or former champion Radu Albot.
