Taylor Fritz vs Jannik Sinner Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells
by Kennedy Kechula | in Tennis Predictions
Fourth seed Taylor Fritz and 11th seed Jannik Sinner will for the second time in their careers face off, this time in the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Open on Thursday on an outdoor hard court. Taylor Fritz is only three matches away from defending his title here and in doing so can claw his way back into the world’s top six. The American is currently sitting at position 10 in the live ranking and has blown hot and cold all season. After starting the year by helping the USA lift the inaugural United Cup, Fritz was shockingly eliminated as an eighth seed in the second round of the Australian Open by the wildcard Alexei Popyrin. He would make the semifinals in Dallas in his next tournament before winning it all at Delray Beach. Looking to make it back-to-back titles, the 25-year-old would fall again in the semifinals at Acapulco. He has been in fine form though in California, dropping just one set in his three matches.
Jannik Sinner has also tasted title success this season as he won the Montpellier Open and followed that up by making the final in Rotterdam where he lost in three sets to Daniil Medvedev. He has carried this momentum into Indian Wells where he has won all his three matches without dropping a single set. He dominated Stan Wawrinka to book this round, allowing the three-time Grand Slam champion just one game in the opening set and won 6-1, 6-4. He is currently up to 12th in the live ranking and can move closer to getting back into the top 10. In their first-ever meeting, Fritz defeated Sinner in straight sets in the fourth round of this same tournament in 2021. The winner here will set up a semifinal clash with either top seed Carlos Alcaraz or eighth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.
