Taylor Fritz vs Jack Sock Prediction & Betting Tips - Dallas Open

Top seed Taylor Fritz and wildcard Jack Sock will face off on an indoor hard court in the second round of the Dallas Open. Fritz has won three of the previous five meetings with Sock with the last being at this stage last year. He is currently ranked eighth in the world and comes to this tournament after a disappointing second-round elimination from the Australian Open. Seeded eighth in Melbourne, Fritz was expected to at least make the second week of competition but was eliminated in a four-hour, five-set thriller by wildcard Alexei Popyrin. Fritz won the first set but was pegged back in the next two before tying the match in the fourth. He managed just two games in the final set. He had also struggled in the first round against Nikoloz Basilashvili with the match going to four sets. Fritz has already tasted title success this year as part of the USA team at the United Cup. In last year’s inaugural tournament in Dallas, Fritz was again seeded top and made it to the quarter-finals. He is up one place to seventh in the live ranking and is in 10th place in the live race standings.

Jack Sock won his first two meetings with Fritz, both going to five sets at the Australian and US Open tournaments in 2016. Since then he has been unable to get the better of this matchup and lost on this very stage, in straight sets, as a wildcard to the top-seeded Fritz at last year’s inaugural tournament. Sock has played just two matches this season. He defeated Ilya Ivashka in three sets to advance to this round for his first win of the year. Sock has been as high as eighth in the world but injuries and a dip in form have seen him regress in recent years. He is currently in 139th place in the live ranking. The winner in this match will progress to the quarter-finals to face either seventh seed Marcos Giron or world number 80 Oscar Otte.
