Taylor Fritz vs David Goffin Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Shanghai Masters

Unseeded David Goffin bids to reach the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters. The Belgian takes on seventh seed Taylor Fritz in the last eight of this hard court tournament. Time for our match prediction.

Taylor Fritz is up a place to sixth in the live rankings and fifth in the ATP Race. The 2024 US Open finalist had lost three of his last four matches before returning to form in Shanghai and had made it past round three here for the first time.

The American has made it to the last eight without dropping a set. Wins have come against qualifier Terence Atmane (both sets being decided by a tie-break), Yosuke Watanuki and in the fourth round, 12th seed Holger Rune for the loss of only three games.

He's 1-1 in previous meetings with David Goffin.  Both were played on outdoor hard courts with the most recent seeing Fritz win in three sets in 2021. Both of their previous matches have gone to a final set with Goffin's win coming five years ago.

From being outside the top 100 in June, David Goffin is now up to 53rd and can move up another six places if winning this match. During his good run, Goffin  has reached two semi-finals, one on the Challenger Tour and the other, the ATP Winston Salem Open.

He's beaten two seeds to reach the last eight in Shanghai. 15th seed Lorenzo Musetti was beaten in round two, despite his losing the first set 6-1.  He only won one game in the first set of his next match against Marcos Giron but again fought back well.

The last round saw him get a big straight sets win over second seed Alexander Zverev with nine games being lost. This is another stiff task for him and we go for over 19.5 games to be played.
