Taylor Fritz vs Casper Ruud Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Casper Ruud won the recent Geneva Open and is going well again at Roland Garros. The seventh seed faces Taylor Fritz in the last 16 and his opponent is the 12th seed for this outdoor clay court Grand Slam. The winner of this match will be up against either top seed Novak Djokovic or 23rd seeded Francisco Cerundolo. Ruud has reached the final at Roland Garros for the past two years. Ruud is 11th in the live rankings which is a fall of four places but he's defending all those points earned when reaching last year's final. In the Live ATP Race, he's in fourth position and in addiition to winning in Geneva, also won the Barcelona Open on clay. So far at Roland Garros, he's dropped three sets. He had to go to a final set to get past Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina and four to beat 28th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Taylor Fritz has had only one previous match against his opponent. That was in 2022 and Ruud won the match but it was played on a hard court. This is his first time in the fourth round at Roland Garros. His previous best was twice getting to the third round. He went a step further this year when defeating unseeded Thanasi Kokkinakis. The American won the first two sets in that match but in the end only won 6-3 in the final set. He also dropped a set in his wins over Federico Coria and Dusan Lajovic. A win here will mean it's three successive Grand Slams in which he's got to the last eight. He's 12th in the live rankings and 10th in the Live Race. This year has produced some good results on clay including a  final in Munich but this looks too tough and we go for Ruud to win.
