Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Zverev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP US Open

12th seed Taylor Fritz attempts to reach his first Grand Slam semi-final. The American takes on the fourth seeded Alexander Zverev in the last eight of this hard-court Grand Slam. Here's our match prediction.

Fritz is in the US Open quarter-final for the second successive year. It's his third last eight appearance in a Grand Slam this year and fifth in total but he's yet to win one.

The 26-year-old is 12th in the live rankings and ninth in the ATP Race. A win over Zverev will take him into the top eight on the latter list. His first three matches in this tournament were all won in straight sets.

That run ended in Sunday's last 16 match against the eighth seed Casper Ruud. After losing the first set, he won the next three for the loss of nine games. 

This is his tenth match against Zverev and he trails the German 5-4. Their two meetings this year have been shared but were played on other surfaces. The American leads 3-2 in hard court matches.

Alexander Zverev is also in his second successive US Open quarter-final. He was the runner-up here in 2020 and losing finalist the following year. A win here will take him into his third Grand Slam semi-final of the year.

He's up to second in the live rankings and also in that position in the ATP Race. Only one of his eight tournaments played before this US Open has failed to see him get to at least the last eight.

Only one title has been won this year and that was on clay in Rome. This tournament has seen him defeat Maximilian Marterer, Alexandre Muller, Tomas Martin Etcheverry and in the last 16, Brandon Nakashima.

All bar the Muller win have been achieved in four sets. We tip him to beat Fritz.
