Fourth seed Alexander Zverev bids to reach his first Wimbledon quarter-final. He takes on the 13th-seeded Taylor Fritz for a place in the last eight against either 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti or lucky loser Giovanni Mpetshi Piccard.

This is the only Grand Slam in which Zverev hasn't reached the last eight. Only once before has he made it to the fourth round of this grass court Grand Slam. The German is third in the live rankings and only Jannik Sinner has earned more ranking points than him in 2024.

Only one warm-up tournament was played prior to Wimbledon. That was in Halle where he was beaten in the semi-finals. Zverev has had wins over Roberto Carballes Baena Marco Giron and Cameron Norrie and all have been won in straight sets.

Just one of the nine sets he's played has seen his opponent win more than four games. He leads Fritz 5-3 in previous meetings and won both of their matches on grass. Both were in this tournament with each player winning a set.

Taylor Fritz has been in a Wimbledon quarter-final and that was two years ago. The world number 12 is still in that position in the live rankings but beating Zverev will move him up to 11th. He's already won one grass tournament this year with success in Eastbourne.

At Wimbledon, the American has beaten Chris O'Connell, Arthur Rinderknech (needing four sets) and the 24th seed Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets. We believe that Zverev can get the win here but both players will win a set.
