Two Germans face each other in the first round of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Lucky loser Ella Seidel takes on Tatyana Maria for a place in the last 16 of this indoor clay court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

Ella Seidel is the world number 124 and had to play in the qualifying rounds of this tournament. The second qualifying round saw her lose to the top seed Dayana Yastremska. That was not the end of her week though as she has been reinstated as a Lucky Loser.

Seidel has won 16 of her 28 matches this year. The 20-year-old has been mainly playing on the ITF circuit with one semi-final and three other last eight appearances. Four of her six clay court matches played this year have ended in defeat.

Tatyana Maria is ranked 81st and is now 37 years old. The German was playing in professional tournaments when Seidel was just a year old. Maria has a 13-11 record in 2025 and has won one ITF tournament this year.

This is her second WTA Tour clay court tournament of the year and she reached the last eight in Bogota. The weekend saw her lose a couple of matches on clay in the Billie Jean King Cup. We tip her to beat Seidel.
