Tampa Bay are the defending Super Bowl champions but find themselves in the wild card play-offs. They are the second seeds in the NFC and host the Philadelphia Eagles who are seeded seventh. The Buccaneers had a 13-4 season record and that won them the NFC South division, four wins ahead of the New Orleans Saints. It wasn't enough to make them first seeds and go straight through to the divisional play-offs. Green Bay also won 13 games but nine of them were won against other sides in the NFC, compared to eight for Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers won seven of their last eight games, including the last three with two of those being won by at least 24 points. Their only recent loss was a 9-0 defeat by New Orleans. They played Philadelphia in mid-October and won that away match 28-22.

Philadelphia finished second behind Dallas in the NFC East division. They ended the regular season with a 9-8 record to become the seventh seeds. It was tight though and only their win over New Orleans gave them seventh rather than eighth position. Philadelphia didn't get off to a good start this season and only three of their first nine matches were won. After week 13, they were still 6-7 but three wins in a row put them into the wild card play-offs. Their final game was against Dallas and that ended badly for them with a 51-26 defeat. They might not lose so heavily this weekend but Tampa are the team that will get to the divisional play-offs and face either Arizona or the LA Rams.
