One of the most anticipated games of the NFL week three schedule sees Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers at Raymond James Stadium. Two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever lace them up take the field in this one with each team holding legitimate Super Bowl aspirations for the season. The Bucs have gotten off to a 2-0 start with their defense leading the way to lead the NFC South while the Packers have split their first two games of the season and sit with a 1-1 record in the NFC North. Despite the two legendary quarterbacks combining for 41 seasons of NFL experience, they’ve only faced off against one another on four previous occasions. It is Brady who holds the upper hand in that respect, winning three of the four encounters.

Both teams have seen relatively slow starts on the offensive side of the ball but have had their defenses step up to carry the load. Tampa Bay in particular has had a phenomenal start on that side of the ball, giving up only 13 total points to a Cowboys team that finished as the co-highest scoring team in the NFL with 63 total touchdowns, and a dangerous Saints team that has always caused Brady problems. They’ll be hoping for more of the same here against Aaron Rodgers who still appears to be finding his feet with his new-look receiving core. The Packers defense has also stepped up in the opening two games, ranking fourth in team defense with only 158.5 passing yards allowed per game.

Tampa Bay defense is elite against the pass, giving up 13 yards per pass play and leads the league so far with 10 sacks. They’ll need a good performance on that side of the ball as they could be without a number of offensive weapons yet again for this matchup. Wide receiver Mike Williams will miss out serving a suspension after his on field brawl with the Saints, while Julio Jones and Chris Godwin, also part of the receiving core, are doubtful after missing the week two win. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has had his own problems at the start of this season and still appears to be working out the kinks with his new look receiving core. The loss of all-pro Devante Adams and the reliable Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a huge blow to the Green Bay aerial threat and another reason to like the under here.
