Tamara Zidansek vs Paula Badosa Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

It's been another eventful women's singles event at Roland Garros. Paula Badosa is the 33rd seed and takes on unseeded Tamara Zidansek for a place in the last four. The winner faces either Elina Rybakina or Anastasia Pavlyuchenko, neither of whom are in the top 20 seeds list. Zidansek is one of the surprise packages in this tournament. She began it down at 85th in the rankings but a win here will take her into the top 50. At one point this year, she was only 93rd in the world so reaching the last eight at Roland Garros wasn't too expected. A win in January over Jennifer Brady showed what she is capable of.  Zidansek is at home on clay and made it to the last four in Bogota earlier this year. She's taken a set off Ashleigh Barty in Madrid but this run is still a surprising one. Her first round opponent was sixth seeded Bianca Andreescu but she won that in three sets after losing the first winning the final set 9-7. Other wins have come against Madison Brengle, Katerina Siniakova (a good win considering the first set was lost 6-0) and then Sorana Cirstea in the fourth round. She's had four tie-breaks so far and that 9-7 against Andreescu. 

Paula Badosa is the clear form pick to win this match. The Spaniard has risen from 70th in the rankings at the start of 2021 and a win here will take her up to 24th. In March she got to the last four in Lyon but the switch to clay has worked wonders. Charleston saw here get to the semi-final after beating Belinda Bencic and then world number one Ashleigh Barty in straight sets. Barty got her revenge in Madrid and again Belinda Bencic lost to her. Not so Ashleigh Barty though, she beat the Spaniard in the last four. Badosa's good form continued when winning the clay court tournament in Serbia. Six years ago, Badosa became the junior champion at Roland Garros. The fourth round in the women's singles was reached last year. This year has seen her do even better with victories over Lauren Davis, Danka Kovinic (just two games lost), a win from behind against Ana Bogdan and then beating 20th seeded Marketa Vondrousova in the last 16. Back her to beat Zidansek and have a side bet on there being a tie-break.
